Well at least the right score this time. Pitty for Almagro, played out of his mind on those 8 MP he saved not afraid to go for broke, but made stupid errors when he had the chance to win the 3rd set.
Verdasco went for high percentage on first serves (88%). Almagro couldn't take advatage of those slow and safe first serves.
His first serve % is always high but it's deceiving because most of the time he serves like a woman. I can't be too mad though, at least he's saving energy, but it's so annoying because he's #1 on the leaderboard for serve speeds (a 232km/h bullet). We know what he's capable of, but he doesn't choose to use his serve as a big weapon enough of the time.
Maybe he pushes himself to serve fast when he does and maybe it's fear of getting injured or something.
After all, he was injured immediately after the AO semifinal (left foot) and he was serving bullets for most of that one.
In fact, in a way I admire him for it even more because it shows the quality of his groundies if he can win most of his matches (in straight sets no less) serving like a WTA player.
