Andy, the Frenchiest American.

Into the third round without dropping a set, keep it going clay monster.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Re: RG R2: Roddick d. Minar 6-2 6-2 7-6(2)

Roddick is going to make his first 4th round showing at RG, he has Gicquel next, so he will make cassoulet out of him.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Minar is a cow. Andy shouldn't take too much from this win.

Good stuff by Andy.

Roddick hitting the ball pretty hard. Nice to see, even if it's against someone like Minar.

wat.

I saw Andy sliding around a bit on the clay and looking like he kind of knew what he was doing. It was a very strange experience.

I don't see any reason why Andy can't make the second week here. He's playing with some emotion and can actually rip his forehand a little bit on clay because of the bounce(he could do it on hard courts at one time....but not any longer. Shame.).

Is Roddick going to lose a set in this tournament?

I don't think Andy will ever have a win on clay that you can take anything out of.

Don't tempt fate but so far the draw has been kind. I think the greatest challenge will be Monfils if they both get there that is.

Yeah.....Minar is just a volatile shmack......had managed to attune his game in the 3rd,but wasted 2 hidden set points and it was all clear......nothing spectacular from Roddick at all but still big congrats for achieving best ever result on RG.

This is exactly what I was thinking while I was watching the match. "Hmm... Andy is sliding... and it doesn't even look that ridiculous! Look at you, Andy!!"

It's nice to see that Andy is really into the French too, he seems excited and also seems to care. Love that Grosjean called him "the French-est American" Lol. It also cracks me up that those two are such good buddies. How did that happen?

Sidenote: Minar isn't looking so hot for a pro athelete. I thought my dad wandered onto the court for a minute there.
