RG R1: Robredo def. Mannarino 6-2 6-1 6-2

That almost put me to sleep. This Mannarino hit some appalling shots. Robredo just basically had to stand there.

Robredo has made the QF in 2003, 2005 and 2007. It seems he thrives in odd years. Will it happen again this year?

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

No he won't get past the Djoker this year.

Re: RG R1: Robredo def. Mannarino 6-2 6-1 6-2

Mannarino really does seem to be struggling making the transition from Challengers to Tour level. I wonder whether he'll find more Grand Slam WCs harder to come by now that he has been spanked 6-0 6-2 6-2 (Verdasco - Oz Open) and 6-2 6-1 6-2 in consecutive appearances.

It's been a demolition each time he's gotten a wild-card indeed (Bercy, Melbourne, RG), but it's not like he was doing well on the Challenger tour either lately. He's been slumping big time for a while now.
He was looking good in Metz (wins over Seppi, Gicquel and close match against PHM).

Re: RG R1: Robredo def. Mannarino 6-2 6-1 6-2

It's not so much the transition from Challengers to the main tour, but just his general lack of form, really.

Glad to see Tommy advance, but I really hope Adrian doesn't let these matches get to him.

A Simon vs. Boredo match would be an awesome bussiness opportunity. You can make a fortune by selling pillows to the crowd.

Expected beatdown. I think Mannarino will be a good player in fast surfaces in 2 or 3 years time though
