RG Draw- Who's avoiding who?

With the recent clay court tournament results, It seems to me that RG champion will be decided on who meets who in the semis.

Nadal would still be the heavy favorite, but there's a lot of draw scenarios that would be unfavorable for him and could cost him the title.

I think, Nadal and Federer are both trying to avoid Nole on their half of the draw, because it definitely sounds UPSET in the making.

As for Nole- beating Nadal and Federer would be a hard task but doable.

My point is- I think whoever is not on Nole's side of the draw between Nadal and Fed will be crown RG champion.

It's too bad, the half semi finalist are all beatable.

It depends which Djokovic turns up, the one who was great in 2008 and came back to life in Madrid, or the shadow who played most of 2009.

Re: RG Draw- Who's avoiding who?

Djokovic is not a threat to Nadal or Federer. Nadal will simply wear Djokovic down and in spite of Fed's recent losses to Djokovic, Fed is most comfortable playing Djokovic compared to Nadal or Murray. I wouldn't mind Djokovic on Fed's side of the draw.

Need ideas for a new signature...

Re: RG Draw- Who's avoiding who?

I don't think that anyone stands a chance if Nadal plays like last year in Paris.
No matter on which side Djoko is.

And yes Djokovic could reprise himself from Wimbledon 2008- I really think that Madrid loss to Nadal could be very dangerous for his confidence.
He played great, pulled excellent tactic and still was beaten (more - less the same thing as Queens 2008)

I wouldn't be surprised if some floater eliminates him in the first 2 rounds.

Stop it people. Novak has not beaten Nadal in a 3 out of 5 sets match. Ever!

Re: RG Draw- Who's avoiding who?

but Nole's clay court result in the last 3 AMS speaks for themselves. He is no joke this year on clay. They have to work their ass out to beat him.

In fact, I could say he could have won that semis agains't Nadal but I would also think he would lose the finals to fed because of exhaustion.

- might it not also be that Fed has become just a little bit better the past weeks? Why all of the sudden Djokovic Bandwagonning?
Nadal was having trouble with Verdasco in Madrid as well, FGS.

Verdasco giving Nadal trouble? when is that?

Did Verdasco ever win a set? or a set point? let alone a match point!

Of course,

We all here speak if Rafa doesn't play that well.
If he plays like in Madrid- he is beatable of course.

If he plays like last year at RG- he will not lose a set.

What the top players can choose their own draw to avoid players.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Yes, thats a valid point, but Nole also had his best clay court results this year so far.

And also, that 3 setter 4 hours match in Madrid is more than a 5 setter 6:2 2:6 6:3 7:6......and so on.....

How do you avoid someone in a draw? What the hell, everyone´s scared of Gaudio, that´s a given.

Are you telling me that Novak will be the favorite if it goes to the fifth set? He'll probably have no legs left. Novak will indeed need to win the first 2 sets and wait for Rafa to stumble. Unfortunately, the surface will be much different. No altitude and Rafa will serve a couple of bagels I am afraid. He likes Roger and Novak so much he'll give them one each.

I don't think it's bandwagonning as such. If Novak had converted one of those match points on Saturday, than we would have gotten real bandwagonning, I think.
Novak has shown good results on clay so it's not so odd to see him as a difficult opponent on clay.

Nadal is avoiding no-one.
Federer is avoiding Djokovic and Murray
Djokovic is avoiding Nadal.
Murray is avoiding everyone.

Hope this helps.
