Fed ***** the toad in the first set, in the second toad upped his game and was up *4-2 after a horrible game from Roger, but Fed broke back immediately and got the job done

the short slice to Soderling's backhand to draw him to the net worked like magic every single time

Fed's serve looks to be back (more or less).

Still the second set shits continue for Fed.

Re: Madrid R2: Federer def. Soderling 6-1 7-5

First set very good job by Fed (though it's hard to judge where his game actually stands right now, as Toad was rightout -horrible), second set... Uhm. Well.

Traces of Trademark-Feddie Second Set-itis () coming in, got broken but immediately managed to break back and refused to 'fold like a cheap tent' this time. Pfew. Very wobbly affair, that second set-level won't get him to the final, here - no way.
1st serve percentage still low but he did have a very high points on first serve-stat (89%) nevertheless.
11 Aces, not bad, but also 2 DFs. Improving - hopefully.

Anyway, a win = a win. Good luck in the next round, Rog.

Typical Fed-Soda match = waste of time to watch something so predictable. All their matches have the same pattern, Federer has built such a tremendous advantage over Soderling, would beat him even playing only slices from both wings

I though that faster clay with lower bounce will help Federer a lot, but that second set showed that he is still prone to involuntary lapses as before. I won't be surprised if he pulls out another breakdown against tougher opponent in a tight match.

Sod is not any measure.
Fed was just two points away from losing the 2nd set.
He will no pass Blake.

Blake? Blake? r u kidding me?
Fed might suck right now but he is nowhere near Blake's level of mugness.
Ill say he might lose to Murray... but Im expecting him to get bagelled in the final by Nadal... with the cakewalk he has.
