Winning 3 AMS in a row

Has never been done before, to the extent of my knowledge. Nadal has a good shot at doing it, and keep breaking ATP records at just 22.

I can't say about slams, but I doubt we will see someone breaking his AMS records in decades after he retires.

Nadal career prediction: 6 RG, 2 Wimbledon, 1 Australian Open, 1 US Open, 2 Master Cup, 20 Master Series, 65 titles.
(Predicted before RG 2008 when he had 3xRG)

Nadal: the last Balearic Slinger, the ultimate product of natural selection. Feel the weight of the centuries in the Topspin from Hell!

Re: Winning 3 AMS in a row

Muster had a great shot at it because of his wins in clay, but didn't win Hamburg, and the year he won Miami it was his last title.

Also checked Fed, Sampras, Agassi, Kuerten and nothing.

I know. He was the most likely to do it, but didn't

Muster didn't play Hamburg in 95 or 96.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Nor did Becker, Edberg or Rios. I don't think I am forgetting anyone with a chance at it.

Re: Winning 3 AMS in a row

3 in a row that they PLAY? Because Nadal did that in 05 when he won Monte Carlo, Rome, and Montreal, and didn't play Hamburg (and came damn close to making it 4 straight at Miami).

14.

Federer won 4 straight, Hamburg & Cinci 2005 and IW & Miami 2006. Didn't participate neither in Canada nor in Madrid or Paris in 2005.

Re: Winning 3 AMS in a row

Fed was close in 06 and 07. 06-- IW-Miami-MC(F)-Rome(F), 07-- Hamburg (W)-Montreal(F)-Cinci(W). Nadal will probably do it this year.

Re: Winning 3 AMS in a row

...and if someone was ever going to do this it was going to be the best Masters Series player ever, Nadal.
