Munich QF: Berdych def Hewitt 4-6 6-3 7-6 (4)

Two 3 set wins a row, almost impressive from Berdych.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

strange result... gotta favour hewitt at 5-5 in deciders vs headcases.. really... come on... hewitt is lifetime 213-3 vs Headcases... fair suck of the ol' sausage here tommy...

f*** it...

anyways... tournament served it purpose for LleyGOAT and this long match vs quality opponent is perhaps better than two short ones of questionable opposition re: houston...

There goes my cash... can't believe Berdych pulled this one. GOAT anyone?

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Tomas. No choking today.

Re: Munich QF: Berdych def Hewitt 4-6 6-3 7-6 (4)

Well, they both had their chances in the match in the third set. First Hewitt got to *2-0 then Berdych ran to *2-4. After that both were convincing and quite held their nerves until the TB. It was a really tight match, wouldn't have been undeserved if any of them won. Not a bad match up for Lleyton, the more harder and faster Tomas was hitting the more better were his counter-punching shots. But as the match progressed he was getting slower and slower, especially on direction changes, and you could see the expressions of pain on his face. He endured in the last set and got to TB only because of his experience, he changed tactics to get back in the set, instead of CC exchange he started hitting BH DTLs and that was enough to surprise Berdych. On the other hand for the most parts of the match Tomas played very well, extremely accurate, he did especially well in changing direction when being offensive from CC to DTL from both wings. Good match.

It's been a long time since you could bet your house on Hewitt edging a tight match.
