It is very interesting indeed. So what is the bottom line of the Nadal/profit article?

He is making less money than Roger. Bloomberg attributed this fact to Roger speaks 6 languages and Rafa speaks only very bad English limiting to him to Hispanic market

I liked this part:

Quote:
While sports is full of stars like Russia’s Anna Kournikova, who once made more money from sponsors than any other female athlete without ever claiming a singles tennis title, Nadal refuses to let endorsements distract him from improving his game.

“Maybe he is just an old-fashioned type of sports person, somebody who sees the sport as the single-most-important thing,” Chadwick says.

At a press conference at Indian Wells, Nadal said that too many endorsements meant too many days of work in an already hectic 11-month season. In February, after a 24-hour journey from the Australian Open to the island of Majorca, Nadal spent 10 hours filming his seventh ad in a year for Banco Espanol de Credito SA, a unit of Banco Santander SA, Spain’s biggest lender.

“I am a tennis player,” Nadal said at Indian Wells. “For me, it’s very, very important, the sponsors, sure. But at the same time, I want to have time, enough time to practice and to continue to improve my tennis.”

Federer = Businessman

and you use this link to support your unfounded comments???

May 8 (Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg's Daniel Lester reports from London on Rafael Nadal's struggle to overtake rival Roger Federer on the money list in tennis even after ending the Swiss champion's 4 1/2 year reign as the sport's best player in 2008. (Source: Bloomberg)

READ THE ENTIRE ARTICLE before you post. 1) Bloomberg said Federer speaks 4 languages.

2) Nowhere did they say that Nadal's limited English confined him to the Hispanic market. However they did say thet his winning the USO would broaden his American appeal.

If what you wrote was the introduction to an essay, you get an F.

The source of what he said is common knowledge. Most people know about Nadal's English and Federer's multi-language fluency. It's easy to infer that Nadal's lack of English fluency would limit his ability to have a broader appeal. However, I see your point too -- what he said doesn't necessarily come from the article.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it is a part of the video.
