Who has today´s best backhand?

Considering all aspects (variety, accuracy, strength, aesthetic, etc)

For me:

Double handed: Nalbandian, Murray and Djokovic
Single handed: Wawrinka

Agreed with the OP. I would add Kohlscrieber (as already mentioned), Safin and Gasgay.

Kohlschreiber & Bolelli

Gonzalez or Federer

Football is one of the few areas of life where even if you're untutored, you can go to a ground and see George Best beat three men, and you can realise, 'I have seen genius.'

Re: Who has today´s best backhand?

The most punishing backhand I've seen was Bernard Tomic at the Australian Open. He generates so much power from the flat backhand when he goes for the winner that I don't think even Nadal would get to it, thats not a joke he hits the backhand so well. The fact that he's 16 means that when he gets older and more powerful his backhand is going to be unstopable.

Re: Who has today´s best backhand?

Hah... you've got to be joking if you think Wawrinka has the best single handed backhand..

Double handed: Nalbandian, Murray and Djokovic
Single handed: Federer, Gasquet

Federer's BH is extremely underrated, wouldn't trust anyone who calls it a "junkshot" - they're just trolling.

Re: Who has today´s best backhand?

^^ watch the Australian Open Final and tell me Federer's backhand wasn't junk, he just randomly lobbed it, had no chance of penetrating, it made for boring tennis.

Re: Who has today´s best backhand?

Federer's backhand is excellent when he's playing confidently. Which isn't so often anymore. And Gasquet's single-hander is obviously up there as well.

Nalbandian has the sweetest double-handed backhand in tennis. Too bad he's such an overbloated toad. Djokovic also has a nice one....IMO better than Murray's with the exception of slicing.
