Record this year: 21-6 with 0 titles
He may not be "dead" but this is HORRIBLE! It's a huge drop down. Plus he has tons of points to defend from last year, so he will probably continue going down... He's done. It doesn't mean that he won't have some great results from time to time! But anyways with the baby coming, and with Nadal/Murray beating him easily, I think he might call it quits sooner than we think. He will find the excuse that he "wants to focuse on his wife & kid" but everyone would know that it's because he knows he can't win another grandslam anymore and can't compete with the new elite players.
I agree with the Thread starter that all this "It's Over" talk is very premature. No he hasn't won any titles this year but same as last year at this point he had only won in Estoril. The year before that even he only had 2 titles as this point. He also made the final in the Australian Open losing to Nadal which was anything but easy for Nadal. Neither Murray or Djokovic have been able to take out Fed in straights this year so i don't think anyones beating easily at this stage.
It's true he's not as dominate or as confident as he once was but that doesn;t make him a mental midget. He's just not playing the big points like he once was. Talking about retirement is just absurd.
