RG and Wimby- just 2 weeks apart?

wow, I didn't realized that until i look at the tournament calendar.
Is this the closest they have been? I knew they were close but not 2 weeks.

What would be the point of saying they were two weeks apart when they weren't?

Tennis is life...

Re: RG and Wimby- just 2 weeks apart?

What was the gap between them last year, BIG MARAT?

Or 2004? Or 1998? Or 1984?

I concur. They should be played on Easter and Christmas like they've always been.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

I prefer to think about it as 14 days apart...helps me sleep easier at night

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world

last year, and every year before that, they've been a fortnight apart.

Okay seriously, you've been a member of this forum since 2003. Search your memory of that time for something other than this:

1. Halle and London the day after RG ends
2. Nottingham and Rosmalen (s'Hertogenbosch now) the same week as Wimbledon Qualies.
3. and 4. Wimbledon

That's it, grass is four weeks long. Five if you count the Surbiton Challenger the second week of RG (now moved to Nottingham). Six if you count the Newport Hall of Fame tournament.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Re: RG and Wimby- just 2 weeks apart?

Personally, I like to compare a given French Open to the next year's Wimbledon, because that feels like the most appropriate time distance to have between them.

Well start.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
