If Nadal defeats Djokovic in Rome Final Murray becomes N° 3...?

Novak is 110 points over Murray and Andy doesn't lose points as he did second round last year too.
If Novak loses the final tomorrow he loses 150 points (500 for the winner, 350 for the runner-up). So Murray will overtake Novak?
Is what I'm saying right?

It's been discussed in the ranking thread extensively as far as I remember - and the answer to the question is YES.
Correct me if I'm wrong, as I have to admit that the current point count gives me headaches...

It has been talked about for days now. Novak has to win Rome in order to stay no.3 in 2 weeks time. Otherwise Andy will be new no.3 on May 11th

Now it's 1000 for winner, 600 for runner-up, and 2008 defend points is doubleed. You can see the ATP website players ranking breakdown.
So to answer this question, if Djokovic loses in Final, he will lose 400 points.

No, because Andy lost his first match. Player who gets a bye & loses first match doesn't get second-round points.

This has been discussed over and over again. I mean, anyone can do the Math and conclude that yes, Murray will be #3 if Novak loses tomorrow. Did you mean to say, "Yay, Murray will be #3 tomorrow if Djokovic loses".. because I think that's what you meant.

'If Nadal defeats Djokovic in Rome Final Murray becomes N° 3'

Yes, 11th of may Murray would become No.3 for sure (this year Rome is week earlier). Doesn't matter Novak's Belgrade result. Novak can avoid 4th spot only if he wins tomorrow.

You're not wrong Karin but this would happen week later, not day after tomorrow.

I wonder when Roger loses his No. 2 position. It's about time. He is a disgrace to that No. 2 at this point. Don't get me wrong. I wish Roger could get back to No. 1 but right now Roger should worry about staying in top 4.

Either way, Rafa is going to win, and I'm pretty sure Djoker is going to drop a spot and Murray is going to become are new #3.

Thanks for correcting me Misha, I must admit that I can't keep up with the current ranking points system.

Re: If Nadal defeats Djokovic in Rome Final Murray becomes N° 3...?

If Novak does lose 400 points as runner up at Rome - but wins 250 pts at Belgrade, he will only be down 40 points below Murray - correct? If so Murray will have to do alot of winning quickly to consolidate his lead and there is still alot of clay - Madrid (1,000 pts) and RG (2,000 pts) to go.
.
And since Murray WON Madrid in 2008 he could lose alot of points there.
