The venue looks good. Spanish architecture has taken a step for the better the last decades.

Very nice. Good to see a new facility on the Masters Series.

For me though it's not as aesthetically appealing as Hamburg's centre court. The roof and rectangular lay-out of the stands are a bit ugly.

Does anyone know how it supposed to play (i.e. similar to RG, fast like Rome, slow like Hamburg, etc)?

I'll post here too the pics I just posted on WTF

general view of the complex. The big building shaped like a box contains the 3 main courts. All of them have retractable roofs. The smaller building on the right contains training courts

center court

roof open

plans & 3D models

smaller courts

entrance

ladies locker room

still working on training courts

the park next to the complex, Madrid on the background

night shot of the complex

Well, if I was the organizer, I would bring the clay directly from RG

It's supossed to be fast due to altitude , plus the fact that it's almost an "indoor clay" court should make it less bouncy.

Who cares, it's still red clay, so we can only wonder who will be the runner up each year.

Nadal career prediction: 6 RG, 2 Wimbledon, 1 Australian Open, 1 US Open, 2 Master Cup, 20 Master Series, 65 titles.
(Predicted before RG 2008 when he had 3xRG)

Looks amazing, on contrary.
Of course not aestethically as Hamburg( I think that it is one of the most beautifull sporting venues in the world), but still very ,very nice.

Do you know how much it takes to close the roof? This system seems complicated to me. Different compared to others I have seen.

Looks ugly to me, too squared. I like the Hamburg stadium more.

The Madrid Arena was much nicer.

The project looks very similar to the Madrid Arena one. I wonder if it was designed by the same architect.

I'm sure the drawers' colours were chosen by Verdasco, Nadull and Lopez.
