No thread? JMDP overcomes Wawa 6-2 6-7(5) 6-3

Discuss.

JMDP was up a set and a break in the second, then up a mb in the tb twice, but Wawa played the crucial points better and took it to a third. There, Del Pony prevailed with his usual game, Wawrinka was flashier but it wasn't enough.

Re: No thread? JMDP overcomes Wawa 6-2 6-7(5) 6-3

Pathetic from Wawrinka, while delPot was distinctly average but solid.

Wawa threw away serve with double faults right at the start, then only started playing a bit after a double break down. Threw away break middle of 2nd set, got it back thanks to a little choking from DelPot, then nicked a tiebreak. Third set Wawa exploded midset, lost something like 10/11 points at one time. Had double break point to get it back but missed both.

DelPot got an insane number of netcords :-)

this match was 50-50 but JMDP is a more regular player, that's why he won.

Novak will kill him.

Stan, loads of point lost here .
I thought that he will come back, had 2BP for 5:5 in the 3rd set.
But still all the credits to Delpo.

great fighting spirit as always from stan - as the commentator said, he just doesn't know when he's beaten.

I agree with the above poster, stan was flashier with his shots and winners second set onwards, but JMP was more consistent throughout. and that amount of UEs is still stan's big problem - he can get away wit it against thelower ranked oppenents, but not against the top 5.

good watch though, couldn't look away to the point that I missed the whole of roger v stepanek match.

Great win for Ponyboy, Stan is no slouch on the clay.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."
