can someone explain the 1:00 start?

today the matches started at one. tomorrow the matches start at one.
considering the rain probabilities, the matches having been delayed, some players starting the second round-
what is Rome thinking. why not start the delayed matches earlier?

does this all go back to that fiddling while Rome burned thing?
is this an italian thing?

The tournament knows that everyone is out partying the night prior so they push the matches to 1 PM as a courtesy.

No one is awake in Rome before midday. Not even the Pope.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Today it's maybe because too many matches ended very late yesterday.

Tomorrow - no idea, in fact it's suposed to rain this evening so probably they should start as early as possible.

Nadal career prediction: 6 RG, 2 Wimbledon, 1 Australian Open, 1 US Open, 2 Master Cup, 20 Master Series, 65 titles.

The inhabitants of the Balearic Islands are said to have been the inventors of slings, and to have managed them with surprising dexterity, owing to the manner of bringing up their children. The children were not allowed to have their food by their mothers till they had first struck it with their sling.
