Barcelona R1: Feliciano Lopez def. Jarkko Nieminen 6-2 6-1

Highlight of the match: two foot faults by Nieminen.

Rain in the second set.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Feliciano had never beaten Nieminen before either. Lopez either played really well or Nieminen really crap. Which was it?

Tennis is life...

LaLo played quite well and Nieminen was awful to be kind.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Jarkko wrote on his blog yesterday that he had fever. As soon as the match started it was clear he didn't want to be on the court today.

He looked slow and I don't mean his serve.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
