Re: llodra def karlovic 46 63 64

Karlovic led 6-4 *2-1, had 25 aces, received 10 free points from Llodra's double faults and still managed to lose. Shows what a shit player he is.

LIKE: Stepanek, Youzhny, Stakhovsky, Raonic, Pouille || HATE: Nadal, Almagro, Monfils, Troicki, Simon, Tipsarevic

Karlovic seems to be concentrated so much on improving baseline game that he has lost the killer instinct in service games. His recent scorelines are untypical for him, many breaks of serve...

This match was bound to have at least one tie-break Both aren't the best returners.

Oh well. The defending champ is through. Wonder how he felt about being put on Court 1

What I find strange is that Llodra doesn't even defend his points. Right?

You might have a good point there. Ivo really shouldn't try too hard on his ground game. He has won enough matches already without any improvement. And it's not like it's still gonna improve that much at his age.

Joachim Johansson / Ivo Karlovic / Andy Roddick / Ernests Gulbis / John Isner / Chris Guccione / Feliciano Lopez / Jo-Wilfried Tsonga / Ivan Ljubicic / Mario Ancic / Michael Llodra / Gilles Muller / Xavier Malisse / Max Mirnyi / Nicolas Mahut / Robin Söderling / Frank Dancevic / Olivier Rochus / Robert Kendrick

The ranking system is fucked up, they just doubled the points from last year. So Llodra defends 600 points and he can only win 500 if he wins. But the comparison is much worse for the smaller regular tournaments (ATP 250) (250 points vs 350 points being defended).

So the net effect is players ranked worse than 45th who can't make ATP 500 tournaments really have a hard time to maintain their ranking, especially if they have points to defend from last year that fall off.

True, but what I meant was that R'dam is in another week this year.

OK but that stuff happened last year also during the summer.

In case of Rotterdam it's because the ATP shifted the calendar before the clay season 2008 because some US broadcasters who had the rights for IW or Miami wanted to show US college basketball at the same time and that was enough for the ATP to delay tournaments like Rotterdam in 2008 and screw up the whole clay season.

So this year Rotterdam is in the "normal" week like it was in 2007, 2006 etc.
