Generally his variety sucks. He bases his game on decent serves and hard play from the baseline, therefore I've noticed good tactical solution in the important moment. I'm curious whether he would play something like this against a Top 10 opponent at the same scoreline.
Variety is what he and Brett have been working on the most. His volleys are much better lately, though it was not the case today.
I think he got the first set to easy. He mentioned he never really let his hand loose as he was playing unusually safe for his standards in the 1st. Veić started playing better in the 2nd when he was no longer as impressed with the crowd and the opponent, and it was time to up the game. Good job overall, he will play nothing like this in the semi. BTW, Marin was apologizing in the post-match interview that they didn't provide better tennis because it was psychologically tough for both, cutie
