I'm not so sure about the US Open, and Wimbledon isn't a sure thing either.
If he faces a huge server (in form) and gets broken a few times, Wimbledon could be all over.
As for the USO, he's going to have to play better than last year where he looked to be in trouble against Querrey and Fish (before grinding it out) and was outplayed by Murray.
I easily can. I don't think Nadal so much ahead of the field on HC. Dojovic, Murray, Tsonga and Federer could all match him gamewise plus some heavy hitters if they are in the zone, verdasco etc. If young guns like simon or Del Pony keep improving they will also have a shot. Nadal will dominate the clay season but I don't think he will collect that many HC titles. Wimbledon and US Open I don't think he will get those. The much competition.
Speaking seriously, I think Rafa may start entering a stage of his career akin to Federer 07 where he faces losses on a pretty regular basis in MMs and MSs, but performs spectacularly in the slams. He's going to burn out otherwise, so I imagine his non-mandatory schedule may get slimmer and slimmer. After all, Slams are all that matters, right?
He's only 22 1/2. Federer was 25 1/2 when he entered that "stage" of losing in most of the MS events. Look for Nadal to absolutely clean up in 2009 and have a bigger year then Fed's 2006 because he will win the French Open.
Recipe for creating a troll: Very simple, just call yourself FedFan_2007, post regularly praising the player you love. Then, when your player starts losing some matches, you somehow switch sides and call your fav's greatest enemy the new GOAT and create a masterpiece like the one this guy just created. Truly...creepy I would say. Get back to your cave troll!
Bullshit. I'm not a troll. I'm just stating the fact that Nadal has created his own "Monster" now and he is expected to win every match except the US Open.
I don't think he is expected to win everything actually. In hard courts, he just has to find a good hard court player playing great and he will lose. As for clay, they should already give everything to him, there is no contest. Wimbledon is by no means his! He played the match of his life last year to win. Federer also played a great match, but still I think Fed has the edge. And the USO, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Though it wouldn't surprise me.
