Yes, of course. There are some Nadalfans here that I like. The tards on the other hand... let's just say I liked Spain as a country more before I came to MTF.

Of course he is nowhere near GOAT status. He needs to keep this up for a few more years. Not 3 slams like this year, but 1-2.

But he is well on his way.

Also it's Borg not Bork
You always mix up Nadal fans with Nadal tards.. there must be a reason for that, don't know, maybe some analogy?

Oh... so you can make the difference, that's good!
But why mistake Spain for posters on MTF? More than half of Nadal supporters here are not even Spanish, including several of the more lunatic fans

Re: Nadal is not GOAT -- yet

People are over sensitive I guess. Many people started talking about Federer being the GOAT even before he won 7-8 slam titles. That's how it is. Nadal is not immune to that. His resume so far is unbelieveable and he has to be involved in future GOAT discussions even if he isn't there yet.

I am a Federer fan but even I can admit that.

Re: Nadal is not GOAT -- yet

of course he not, the GOAT is always Roger

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Epic movies, like brokeback mountain, are seldom found in the industry or worthy for the mainstream viewer. As often as I have watched the clips of this movie, I always find something more to it. For one, the gay stuff doesn't enter the picture for me, only the dimension of the highest love I have ever witnessed in life or on film.

nadal is getting closer for sure. he is lacking the sheer # of slams and weeks at #1...but he will have his chance the next few years.

Re: Nadal is not GOAT -- yet

He needs to overtake federers slam record whatever that may be when roger retires

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

Re: Nadal is not GOAT -- yet

GOAT is not a matter of numbers only. It takes into account how amazing the achievements of a certain player are. And that will always be a subjective issue. I can easily understand the people who are claiming Nadal could already be the GOAT after tonight. They have plenty of strong reasons to think like that

Should the GOAT argument be only a question of numbers?

In my opinion, the question of who is the Greatest Of All Time player should only be answered with numbers. Total slams, different slams, weeks at number one etc.

I see many people use things like playing style and level of competition to strengthen their argument against or fore some players' standing.

Do you think it should only be a question of numbers or should other factors be taken into account?

but...

bjorn borg have 10 slams by age 24... MORE than nadal... but he burned out at age 26 and retired... else he could have been the GOAT...

i am not saying nadal will become GOAT... but if there is one thing that some ppl should learn in this MTF forum... never count your chickens before they hatch...

so let's give nadal several more years to get the slams and #1 rankings to be proclaim as GOAT... i can already see that next thing ppl would demand from nadal is to get calendar slam...
