I meant open era. I thought that was understood. Are you trolling or being serious. Don't know which is worse.

Re: is djokovic qualified to be n the GOAT discussion

The answer to the thread question is of course "No."

Djokovic is a very good player who has picked up a handful of slams and has broken up the Federer-Nadal duopoly. I think all neutrals and most tennis lovers, regardless of their affiliations to certain players, will appreciate that this was a good thing for men's tennis.

I'm dubious as to whether Djokovic will be able to return to his 2011 level, and whether he will be able to get into double figures in the slams. Age isn't on his side. However, with Federer 31 and likely to fall away sooner rather than later, and Nadal seemingly falling apart at the knees, he could dominate slam events for the next couple of years...

Yes of course. It's now or never for djokovic. If he can totally dominate the field for the next couple of years he could be compared with borg, nadal etc. Sampras and Federer are out of his reach imo.

Djokovic could perhaps reach 10 slams during his career. More than that I don't see it.

Is this thread still going? What exactly is here to say other than 'no'?

Hardly. Stop being such a fanboy. Nadal is not close to goat status at the moment.

But with 11 Slams and the Career GS at his current age he's already in the disucssion. Don't let the hate you have for him blind you.

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Simon - Berdych - Dimitrov - Chardy

Agree. I'm not a Raffa fan, but he is undoubtedly one of the greats.

All the very best for 2013 to:

Aga; Ana; Maria; Vika. Come on Caroline, prove everyone wrong!

Andy, Novak. Have a wonderful 2013!!

Re: is djokovic qualified to be n the GOAT discussion

On the issue of Novak, I think he is not only one of the greats but also great! He grew up in war torn Serbia, didn't sell out by taking up British citizenship, has personality and charisma, is fun, and is having a great career in one of the greatest eras, beating my fave Roger, Nadal, Murray and everyone else. In the last decade he is the only player to challenge 2 of the greatest, including the greatest, of all time.

All the very best for 2013 to:

Aga; Ana; Maria; Vika. Come on Caroline, prove everyone wrong!

Is Sampras? Who never even reached a final at Roland Garros? Bjorg who never won US or Australia? McEnroe who failed in Paris? Love, loathe or be indifferent to Nadal, but of course he's one of the greatest!

God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God

After 10 ypu can at least make a case. Example- laver winning the calendar slam.
Have you got proof that your claim is a fact?
