Federer has already matched Pete's record.

In the number of GS final appearances that is. Now just one behind Lendl who has 19 GS finals to his name.

Re: Federer has already matched Pete's record.

If Roger wins the AO, which is pretty much a given, he will smash all all records Pete has ever made.

Except 7 wimbledons but that is still obtainable. Roger won 12 slams in half the time that Pete won 12.

...which is in good measure due to the fact that it took Sampras three years to add to his first slam (USO 90) with a second (Wimbledon 93).

I wonder if there will ever be any player in the future who would win Grand Slams in the same pace Federer has, some of Federer's records - like the consecutive GS finals and semi-finals - could stand for a long long time unbroken, we are so privileged to have witnessed and still are witnessing a legend in the making

I'm sure that Federer will set records that will NEVER be broken. The records for most consecutive GS finals (10) and GS semifinals (19 and counting) are definitely amongst those.

Even though they say "all records are meant to be broken", I think those will not be.
