Losses that made you really sad

Exact opposite of the other thread.......what losses hurt the most?

Agassi d Medvedev 1999 FO
Nalbandian d Federer 2003 USO
Kafelnikov losing to Kuerten in all those close RO QF
Johansson d Safin 2002 USO

many more.........these are just off the top of my head

Re: Losses that made you really sad

Hewitt d Federer 2003 Davis Cup (being there live makes it worse)
Kafelnikov d Gaudio 2002 DC
Grosjean d Mantilla 2003 AO
Chang d Skoff 1990 DC
Chang d Chesnokov 1989 FO
Roddick d Nalbandian 2003 USO
Sampras d Corretja 1996 USO

Definitely plenty of more and will think of them later.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Yes, I was there for that as well, then again I should have mentioned that. The funny thing was that Rosset wasn't the actual weak link, it was Federer who wasn't at this best in that match.

Woodbridge/Arthurs d Rosset/Federer 2003 DC.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Losses that made you really sad

It's definitely worse when you are there, than on TV seeing all the changes and riding the ups and downs of the match, and then a major error or a bad call changes it even more.

Moya b Mantilla 98 FO I thought this was Felix's or Alex's best chance to win a Slam.

Ferrero d Gonzalez at 03 FO

Everyone of the 8 times Mantilla has lost to Ferrero.
He lost 3 of them in the 3rd set breakers that is just painful, another one he lost 7-5 in the 3rd.

The other four are painful but for different reasons.

This one is probably the worst 2002 Monte Carlo
Ferrero 6-1,3-6, 7-6

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I saw the first one on TV and it was painful then.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
