AO 2009: Almost no surprises so far

This year AO has no/few surprises so far.

IMO the only big surprise was Nalbandian 2nd Round lost to Lu, what do you think?

See the seeded list that is out of the tournament.

10 Nalbandian lost to Lu
16 Soderling lost to Bagdathis
25 Karlovic lost to Ancic
27 Lopez lost to Muller
28 Mathieu lost to Delic
29 Tusunov lost to Cipolla
30 Schuettler lost to Sela
32 Kohlschreiber lost to Santoro

Which match result surprised you most?

Are any other matches for seeded or non seeded players that surprised you?

nalbandian's loss was by far the most dissapointing, but not so surprising.

Re: AO 2009: Almost no surprises so far

You are right, he has the game to win to almost everyone if he desires. His "problem" is that he doesn't train as much as other players, but this time I thought he would advance much more as he came from winning a tournament one of the first weeks of the year and this is not so common for Nalbandian.

Any non seeded games that surprised you?

What about Dabul first match?

Agree.

What surprise me is that the 36 year old is still taking tennis seriously... even all the new French stars.

I agree, I started the thread putting the list of seeded players that lost, the same happened with Soderling loosing t Bagdathis. IMO Bagdathis was favourite.

Who has the betting rates for these matches?

Obviosuly Nalba was a surprise but then again also not. This all means tennis is in good shape and things are really tight at the top. For me its more interesting this way.

It could lead to better late round matches if more seeded players remain

I guess Roddick must be the greatest player to ever play the game.

Re: AO 2009: Almost no surprises so far

Lopez lost to Muller
Mathieu lost to Delic
Tusunov lost to Cipolla (not that much concidering Dima's form lately)
Kohlschreiber lost to Santoro.

I am never surprised when Nalbandian losses against anyone (or when he wins against anyone, as I like Murray correctly stated).

For me: 10 Nalby, 29 Tursu, 32 Kohl...maybe the biggest.
Yes, for now, almost no surprises at the AO, and almost every match of the "Big" with bum-bum scoring.

MAESTRO!

You know...At this point you can place me in every "position" you like.

Also the little sheep (or doggy-style). As you prefer, Olderer.
