Blake def. De Chauanc 6/3,6/2,6/3

Blake is rolling, excellent in the first round, same stuff here, but this 31 year old french is just awful, not even challenger material...

Seb

Was very surprised he qualified though, and very convincing at that, let alone win a 1R match.

Another solid performance by Blake, nice variations from the baseline but still shaky serve and backhand. Blake didn't seem to play 100 % as it was simple not needed. Windy conditions affected exchanges too.

This french guy was awful but James played a solid match. He will fancy his chances against Andreev now. Good luck in the next round James.
Has QF points to defend so a win is important to keep his ranking in the top 10.

I am also curious why De Chaunac had some claims about a guy sitting in the front row. I suppose he was fired from the stands at the final stages of the 3rd set.

It seemed to me he was really getting frustated about every little thing, crowd, linesmen etc. He obviously was way out of his depth and getting destroyed so needed to vent his anger. I felt sorry for the poor guy in the stands, he kept apologising until he was blue in the face but De Chauanac kept going on and on.
