Rafa and Simon looking good

While Rafa is busy whitewashing Rochus i cant help but feel the courts suits his game nicely. It just seems to be a little on the slow side and that would suit someone like Simon also. All the counterpunchers would like this surface i think. Rafa has to be one of the favorites now(Rochus just got his first game as im writing this to the pleasure of the crowd ) and Murray's draw is suddeny looking a lot tougher, specially with Tsonga looking good as well. I really like Simon on these courts as well and we're looking at a mouth watering prospect between him and Monfils which is a very probable R16 match. I wouldnt even be surprised if Simon is the surprise finalist. This is all getting very interesting in the top half of the draw

Much as I love Gillou I can't see him getting past Murray

on the contrary, eurosport commentators have been talking all night about the balls that won't suit rafa's game as they don't take on the spin as much as they used to. i think rochus made it clear yesterday that he won't even put up a fight, so it doesn't matter today - but it will matter come saturday, come haas.

Re: Rafa and Simon looking good

Rochus cannot hit through this slow court. This is a slow court, but the big hitters can hit through it. The light hitters have no hope of hitting winners.

Sometimes Rochus has Nadal on other one side of the court and blasts a forehand into opposite corner and Nadal runs to that side and gets the ball back. He has no chance against Nadal. He hits with 2/3 Nadal's pace and 1/1000 of the spin. Thus 2/3 * 1/1000 = 2/3000 of the power.

Although it's good of you to acknowledge 2 more players with positive H2H stats against Fed, even if you can't bring yourself to acknowledge Andy

exactly, it's not like Nadull is playing against a player of Seppi caliber, who is very dangerous and on a good day can beat anybody. I wonder how such a pathetic player like Rochus even entered the MD? He's got no power and game to trouble Top guys

I think Andy is very good, but i dont like him much. Besides he's got a very tough draw now.

Re: Rafa and Simon looking good

It's no tougher now than it was when the draw was made. All the form players are in the top half of the draw We knew that already
