Novak just couldn't break Nienimen's rhythm. Jarkko kept the ball in play nicely and certainly frustrated Novak. Pretty wild shots at the end of long rallies. The wind didn't help, either.

Jarkko . Biggest win of his career so far!

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Twice Novak has had the #2 ranking on his racquet.

I'm liking Nieminen more and more. He's kinda feisty. I hope he wins tommorrow.

Medibank International: Niemenen def. Djokovic 6-4, 7-6

Awful from Djokovic, just awful. Error after error. Shame, I wanted to see a new number 2.

Niemenen played really well, but Djokovic needs to get his act together.

Awesome

Nole couldn't seem to handle Nieminen's "nothing" shots.

Good result for me.

No. 2 ranking + playing a leftie = Novak loses.

Jarkko played an excellent match and handle the wind much better than Djokovic.

Way too many UEs from Djokovic and seems the pressure of #2 got him again.

Congratulation Jarkko and win it all in Sydney!

Nieminen played very well, a deserved win

An potential AO third-round rematch could be in the works, and if Jarkko can play to similar form, it's an interesting possibility
