R2 Doha09: Federer def. Seppi 6-3, 6-3

not as good as yesterday but still well enough to beat the mighty Italian, Seppi played really well today.

serve was very poor from Fed

first serve%: 58%
W/UE: 22/29

good
the semi vs. Murray is what he has to achieve here
everything more than that in Melbourne

Re: R2 Doha09: Federer def. Seppi 6-3, 6-3

Not his best, too many errors, but he won. Not real danger in the whole match.
The numbers are not as good as yesterday also:
1st serve 58%
4 aces
2 Double faults
22 Winners
29 UE
Break points won 4/10

Re: R2 Doha09: Federer def. Seppi 6-3, 6-3

It was a pretty mentally strong match from Federer. Seppi is the type of player who forces you to be patient and play tactically. Start going for too much from his deep flat ball and you will make a lot of errors or get put out of position. Overall, Federer used the right tactics and played through an opponent who can bore/frustrate him. Therefore, I feel it's a pretty good match overall.. not spectacular, but disciplined.

so he didn't play as well as yesterday??

And the serving wasn't as good? Is it possible that his back is still hurting him?

not a good match
Seppi wasnt finding good passing shots which Murray or Nadal will do easily

Re: R2 Doha09: Federer def. Seppi 6-3, 6-3

agreeing with everyone, not good, had to work really hard to hold serve too many times, missed some very easy forehands to.

needs to pick it up before the semi's.

Rog seemingly felt like hitting the crap out of the ball today, especially on the backhand. Fun to watch.
