Kooyong-2009, Melbourne vs. Medibankinternational, Sydney

Kooyong-2009, Melbourne vs. Medibankinternational, Sydney

What do you think, fans? Which tournament will be more competative and interesting?
Both tournaments will be in about same time...

I think Sydney: (not only because of my fav Nalbandian )
this time probably Sydney will be a training version of AO 2009?

Players of AAMI CLASSIC 14 -17 Jan 2009
Roger Federer
Marcos Baghdatis
Marin Cilic
Stanislas Wawrinka
Marat Safin
Fernando Gonzalez
Fernando Verdasco
Carlos Moya.

Players of Medibankinternational 11-17 Jan 2009

update 1:
Djokovic has taken a wildcard ..

at least three frenchmen showed very attractive play during 2008
David was good in the end of last year...

One is an exho, the other one offers points, it's not hard to work out.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

Sydney's field interests me more.

This is the weakest field for Kooyong in a while! I guess Nadal and Murray decided to opt out of Kooyong because they played the Abu Dhabi exho and Doha? Abu Dhabi probably offered more money than Kooyong - damn Middle East and all their money to piss away!

Where is Roddick this year? Injured?

Leo, Nadal never goes to Kooyong, so thats nothing new. Personally I much prefer the Kooyong field, not just because half the field are my top faves, but the players are more impressive to watch than those in Sydney.

I really don't care that Kooyong is an exhibition, you really do get to see the players having more fun on court, and at least for me, its a nice prelude into the Australian Open.

JUAN CARLOS FERRERO

Juan Monaco, Tommy Robredo, Fernando Gonzalez, Juan Martin Del Potro, David Ferrer, Guillermo Garcia Lopez, Juan Ignatio Chela, Fernando Verdasco, Carlos Moya, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Lucas Arnold Ker, Nicolas Lapentti

Re: Kooyong-2009, Melbourne vs. Medibankinternational, Sydney

i heard David plans to try to get some GS in 09, may be AO09? ...
if so, why only one short pre-tournament?

now when the players list of Medibankinternational is clear, i think that it could be well enough

I'm going to the Medibank International so Sydney....

Great list of players, especially on the womens side. I like both ATP/WTA so it'll be good, even better field now that Djokovic is playing.

Never been to Kooyong except to play there for school. Just can't get interested in a 'bition (well everyone calls it Exho on MTF).

Re: Kooyong-2009, Melbourne vs. Medibankinternational, Sydney

Glad Muzza isn't playing another exho as he would have played it like a GS as usaul and potentially burnt himself out.
The field is OK,but wont really follow it.

Sydney should good. Who knows what form Nalby is in, he could really shock alot of people by winning here also Djoker it'll be interesting to see how he'll fair after a disaster this year.

Go Andy!

So very very proud to be a fan of Mr Andy Murray Wimbledon Champion 2013

Double Grand slam champion. Olympic Gold Medalist. Holder of 9 Masters 1000 events # legend
