Nikolay Davydenko - Living proof that you can use statistics to prove anything; Davydenko is apparently the fifth-best player in the world, despite not making it further than the last eight of any tournament in 2008, and crashing out of Wimbledon in the first round. Add to that the match-fixing allegations and losing to Novak Djokovic in the season-ending Masters Cup final and it becomes apparent that the Russian has not enjoyed a vintage year. We'd cut him a bit more slack if he wasn't so boring.
