Why do not more players use 2hfh?

If players can feel the need to use 2 hands on their backhand, why not forehand aswell?

Less reach is one reason.

Well then surely that would be a reason not to use a 2hbh also?

Genius thread. You shouldn't be wasting your time posting on a message board, with your keen skills of deduction and critical thinking we need you in a lab somewhere curing rare diseases.

No. Comparing the decision between using a two-handed or one-handed backhand to the decision between using a regular forehand or two-handed forehand doesn't make much sense.

Jimmy

the perfect tennis player is a player who hits a right handed forehand and a left handed forehand with no backhands, this gives you the greatest reach, however you can only be dominant from one side so the backhand reach has to be sacrificed, why sacrifice the forehand reach?

Santoro is the only player I know of who competed at highest levels with 2hfh, but his speed and movement is exceptional so he gets away with it.

Because they know in advance that they will not be able to handle the pressure of a career as spectacular as Jan-Michael Gambill's.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Re: Why do not more players use 2hfh?

The 2hfh is such an unorthodox shot. Not as natural as the 1hfh or the 2hbh.

Re: Why do not more players use 2hfh?

One-handed forehands come natural, as long as you are not a tiny Asian girl with arms the size of golf club handle. Then you might want to add a second hand to add stability.

Ilija Bozoljac, Julian Knowle, Jeff Coetzee, Byron Black and Joshua Goodall are other players that spring to mind.
