Service Game & Return of Service Leaders

Happy Off Season Everyone,

Excuse me if this has been posted. I know, who cares - but I always find the below interesting.

Rafa made the top 5 in every category except Aces and 1st Serve Points Won.

Certain players, to remain nameless, need to step it up in the Points Won Returning 2ND Serve cat. I mean really!

Re: Service Game & Return of Service Leaders

very interesting. Fed. is the only one who is top 10 in both 1 serve points won and 2nd serve points won. He also has a very high no. of aces which is actually a tricky comparison for him with the rest of the top 10 ace leaders because he plays significantly more clay court matches than the rest of them.

Also fed. is top 10 in 1st and 2nd serve return points won, but it looks like because he isn't top 10 in breakpoint conversions, he doesn't make the top 10 return games won list.

It would actually be interesting to see these broken down by clay vs. hard courts especially for the return stats.

thanks for posting that.

As far as I know he was somewhere around #20 in BP-conversions.
Obviously his Achilles' Heel this season.

Indeed. Would be very interesting!

Quite interesting. No surprises with Karlovic's ace count though.

I still believe in the one-handed backhand.

not so good, he is at 22. Looks like I was wrong, even with that break point conversion fed. is still 10 in return games won. Just didn't scroll down all the way.

I am surprised verdasco is no. 1 in 1st serve percentage.

Re: Service Game & Return of Service Leaders

Nice to see that of "The Big Three", each of them are No. 1 in at least one category (although Nadal topped the most):

2nd Serve Points Won: Nadal (60%)
Break Points Saved: Federer (68%)
Points Won Returning 1st Serve: Nadal (34%)
Break Points Converted: Djokovic (47%)
Points Won Returning 2nd Serve: Nadal (55%)
Return Games Won: Nadal (33%)

Another interesting stat:

Nadal: top 10 in eight categories
Federer: top 10 in seven categories
Djokovic: top 10 in eight categories
