Raemon Sluiter picks up racket again

Raemon Sluiter (30) is gonna retire from retirement. He retired from professional tennis 9 months ago.
He will anounce it officially tomorrow, wednesday, at a press conference.
Until last week he was the coach of fellow Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker.

I like all tennis players

Especially the ones you dislike

Wow, I didn't expect him to come back.

Good luck Raemon Great guy, and a great personality on the court too. To be honest, I don't think he'll get much higher than Challenger-level, but I wish him all the best.

Well that surely is unexpected news!

Does anyone know more about why he wants to make a come-back?

Re: Raemon Sluiter picks up racket again

Agree with Martijn...I think he will find it very difficult (more so with the new rankings changes etc) to make any notable impact at the top (e.g. top 100) anymore.

Nevertheless, I wish him all the best...a nice guy, and his "unorthodox" approach makes for interesting viewing.

Didn't expect it but good luck hopefully he can give us some fine matches, but I doubt if he can make a comeback into the top 100

Re: Raemon Sluiter picks up racket again

Someone should post a youtube clip of Sluiter hitting a forehand.

It doesn't look quite like you would expect.

I don't like those retirements from retirement Sluiter had a decent farewell after loss in Rotterdam to Llodra.

Re: Raemon Sluiter picks up racket again

I think he just wants to travel around and finds himself competitive enough to hang on challenger tour. Nothing wrong with that.

Very nice clip Yves. Worthy of tennis technique textbook/course.
