Young players to shock the world in 2009?

In 08 we had a near unprecidented amount of debut tournament winners, and alot of young players who otherwise made huge impacts on the tour.

....... Nishikori, Cillic, Del Potro, Granollers, Anderson etc etc

So who will make the breakthrough in 09?

Obviously you'd hope that Gulbis could grab his first maintour title (don't think he's one won ) although his talents are well known.....

Also perhaps Schwank and Bellucci to make an impact on the clay.

Anyone spotted a young player that could make the transition in 09?

Well, Gasquet isn't exactly young material anymore...

There is this French dude Mannarino (not sure how to spell it) who's 20 and won a challenger event yersterday, closing in on the top 100, might go some way.

I will go for my dutch guy Haase, if he wasn't injuried for the last months he could have been in the top 40. Since he reached his career high 56 or so, he got injuried in Barcelona and played some matches without being in good shape

Nalbandian

Escude-Kuerten
Dutch players

Gasquet-Ferrero-Lopez-Mathieu

Nadal-Acasuso-Haas-Youzhny-Berdych-Gonzalez-Tursunov

Söderling-Del Potro-Bellucci-Lapentti-Roddick-Verdasco

Replace French Open by Wimbledon and you might be a bit credible.

Cilic and Gulbis are the two obvious candidates

Well, I say Xristos Spyropoulos, Kostas Kostidis, Uladzmir Ignatik, and Bernard Tomic. Also, Andrew Thomas, but what country does he play for now? Australia? Cyprus? Greece?

Marcos Baghdatis Forever!

Through the good and the bad, always my #1, no matter what the rankings say

Xristos spends more time in MTF than the practice courts. I like his Rafa gear though!

Expect Bellucci to do a Simonesque run in 2009.
Gulbis and Nishikori should start winning MMs.
