I'm surprised Robin held on and won, I guess it's because Benneteau is just horrible.

But yeah, good job Robin.

Re: Toad beats Julien for the Lyon title 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-1

This could have been so much easier. Robin was, safe from a deuce game, totally dominant on serve up until *4-3 in the second when his first serves wouldn't drop in. Merci beaucoup to Julien for disappearing entirely in the decider. He played really well in the second.
Oh well, first title for Robin since 2005, and hopefully he got past a big mental hurdle here! His groundstrokes were pretty enjoyable today as well.

Seconded!

Congrats Toad. Nice to see him win a title again. I expected him to mentally combust after losing that second set, but in stead, Julien decided to just go away.

Trust me, you weren't the only one.

Yeah, it was almost like he would have needed a little more time to regroup and steady himself after running away with the second. However, I still think Söderling deserves credit for immediately restarting, cause he played well in the third even though it was over in an instant. Before I saw how he acted in Stockholm I would never have thought he was capable of such a turnaround. The bh dtl to set up matchpoint was sweeeeeet.

Soda Pop is always good indoors and it could be interesting if he brings the A game to Paris for a potential tie with Federer.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

didn't see the match but Benneteau always looks unfit to me so wouldn't be surprised if he just ran out of gas.
