Why do the majority of Aussie players have terrible return of serves?

Of recent years, not just men, but Aussie women have had shsocking returns of serve. Wayne Arthurs, Alicia Molik, Nicole Pratt, Samantha Stosur and above all, Chris Gucione. Guccione would not even be on the ITF events if not for his serve, his return is beyond pathetic. Mark Philippoussis' return could be good at times, but just as bad at other times. The only two Aussie players of recent years who have/had good returns on a consistent basis were Lleyton Hewitt and Pat Rafter.

Lleyton Hewitt, Lindsay Davenport

Pat Rafter, Mark Phillippoussis, Rafael Nadal, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Sjeng Schalken, Chris Guccione. Martina Hingis, Kim Clijsters, Serena Williams, Alicia Molik, Mary Pierce, Amanda Coetzer, Anna Kournikova.

But Lleyton is one of the best returners in history. I'd say that lineup is about par for the course. How many amazing returners can a country have? Especially when the other two Aussie men you mentioned aren't really top calibre players.

Le Poussin! Faithfully ignoring the haters since 1995.

Le Poulailler de Poussin! (Simontarded.)

Ron Paul for President 2012!
