Toot, toot! All aboard for the Murray bandwagon!

Greetings,

He's going to win the August bandwagon thread anyways so lets get it out in the open.

The kid is playing top 4 tennis, I can't see anyone stopping him from being 4th in the World by the end of the year or at the very latest the 1st quarter of next year.

Love him or hate him for his style of tennis or his perceived arrogance on and off court he's going to be around for a long time.

Can he win a slam? Yes he can. Will he win a slam? Well I think he will. Not saying it will be anytime soon but I think he will have chances and will take at least one of them.

Can he make the big 3 into the big 4? Still too early to call. The last 2 weeks plus Wimbledon have been very encouraging so far. But I guess if the only player who has beat you in the last 3 events is the new World number 1 then it can't be that bad can it?

He needs to find a way to beat Rafa. They have had some great matches on HC and Andy needs to start to win some of those. I think he will. He will find a way to beat him on HC. Don't get me wrong, Andy will never beat Rafa on clay and would have to play the greatest ever match to beat him at Wimbledon but he will have the crowd

By the end of the year there could be 1 x 22 year old, 2 x 21 year olds and Fed in the top 4 places. Let the games begin.

Onwards and upwards.

I think we have a few seats at the back so get on board.

Enjoy!

I hope Murray doesn't end up as top 4. Disgrace to tennis.

Sour grapes from somebody who has always said he would never get anywhere.

I'm already on the bandwagon and have been since he won the US Open Juniors in 2004

I said I hoped he never gets anywhere. I've been watching Murray since he beat Stepanek when he was ranked 300+, doesn't mean I hate from 1 reason. It's a disgrace to see a counterpuncher winning. Nadal is defensive too, but at least he absolutely rockets forehand and backhand winners on clay. Murray is the same in every single surface. He may have beaten Djokovic twice this week, but it is Djokovic, with the aggressive tennis that has 1 Slam and more Master Series than Murray.

Lets see how they things pan out shall we. H2H is now 3-2 with nole thrashing an unfit murray twice last year and a win on clay earlier. I know nole didn't play his best in the last 2 matches but hey in their 1st 2 matches Andy didn't play his best either!

It's called the fear factor. You don't want to beleive it but you just never know do you. Lucky for you and Nole that Andy is ranked so high because no-one would want to play a no mark floater like Murray would they?

Lleyton Hewitt made it to no 1 with a similar game.

Re: Toot, toot! All aboard for the Murray bandwagon!

The existence of such a bandwagon would merely confirm what I have suspected for quite some time, that is, members of this board have an appreciation which amounts to zero as it relates to aesthetics or classiness.

The boy is miserable and his game is rough on the eye, then again, perhaps this is indicative of a new breed of tennis spectator that seems to have simply lost his way at some point and rather than feasting on hamburgers, fish & chips and other highly nutritious foods while watching George Foreman matches on VHS, now seems to prefer watching monstrous and beastly athletes masquerading as tennis players.

I've always really liked him, love his languid style of play and his mentality (not the usual crappy weakling Brits like to be). Long may he reign!

His game is quite effective most of the time but so boring to watch. Almost as boring as Nadal's...

This Murray is just a ballbasher. He has no skill. He broke Karlovic 4 times in 2 sets through pure luck
