Have you read Brad Gilbert's book? What did you think of it?

I read it a few years ago. I thought it made a lot of good points, especially understanding what your abilities and your opponents, and how best to maximize your chances.

at the end of the book he says: it doesn't matther if you win playing beautifful or ugly, win is win.

It's a good book with some good pointers and stories. Of course everyone on this forum is much more knowledgeable about the game of tennis than Brad is, so it wouldn't really be of any use.
