What is going on with these players ?

I have just browsed the rankings:

Yeu-Tzuoo Wang (TPE) - 396th
Jan Hajek (CZE) - 538th
Werner Eschauer (AUT) - 470th
Olivier Marach (AUT) - 444th
Florian Mayer (GER) - 242nd

Last year they all were a direct entries or close to it in US Open. And now ?

Eschauer is 5-28 since the last US Open. probably lost motivation after the heights he reached in 07.

mayer retired when they got rid of sopot.

hajek has problems with his heart or had anyway. in the literal, not the gasquet sense.

Re: What is going on with these players ?

Florian Mayer's record this year looks torturous, continuous losses featuring an increasing amount of retirements, and he hasn't played for a few months. He must be injured or maybe even have personal problems.

TT Singles 2012: W: Winston-Salem SF: Honolulu CH, Rotterdam, Memphis, 's-Hertogenbosch, Wimbledon, Beijing, Vienna QF: Barcelona, Nice, Bastad, Petange CH, Bangkok R16: Monte Carlo, Madrid
TT Doubles 2012: W: Caloundra CH (with kingroger), Acapulco (with keqtqiadv) F: Beijing (with KittyTennis) SF: Sydney (with Belludal), Memphis (with Belludal), Guadalajara CH (with kingroger), Wimbledon (with RHB1993) QF: Barcelona (with extremaduratenis), Cincinnati (with stbanchile)

Mayer had wrist surgery according to the homepage of his Bundesliga club:

The wrist was the official reason of his withdrawal in Wimbledon indeed, but he already was badly slumping before that and pulling out of events for other reasons than the wrist. Some people also say he has "private issues".
