Cincy R3: Gulbis def. [7] Blake 6-4, 1-6, 6-3

Blake saved 3 match points on Gulbis's serve (although Gulbis double-faulted on one of them). Couldn't save the 4th.

Well done Gulbis on sending Blake the joke out of the tournament.

never in doubt. i called this match yesterday.

still troubled by the following:

1. poor shot selection from E-Gul
2. little or no point construction from E-Gul
3. little bit too careless/reckless
4. lack of consistency

Oh yes

First ever QF appearance at a TMS for Ernie. He's definitely up there with the big boys now.

Gulbis First QF in a Masters Series But he is so erratic at times

Well done, Ernest!

Still too eh... flakey to make it to the final I think... - but of course a promise for the (near) future.

Good work in repeating the RG win and last months bandwagon winner of the month progressing along well.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
