Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

In other words, which tennis player has the best "sight" in the men circuit? Which tennis player is more likely to be right when challenging a call?

Some tennis players make ridiculous challenges. Others seem to be very close when they make a call. Who is the best?

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

The ATP has or at least had some stats about this, if memory serves I think the worst one to challenge was Federer (no surprise there eh ?)

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.
Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Nadal, because of the Toni Mafia. Miraculously Rafael never makes a mistake

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

Federer doesn't have the best stats in that department, however, I believe he has the best eye-sight for close calls. If he is incorrect, it's bascially not more than 1mm-3mm.

Roger Federer. Legend.

Any stats?

I'd say Nadal has (one of) the best eye in the circuit, no doubt thanks to Uncle Toni extrasensorial capabilities.

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

federer was pretty good when he was the best player in the world but his eye for the "right ball" has decreased just like his play in general. he's rarely winning challenges these days.

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

I think I read somewhere that Nadal had had the highest percentage of hawk eyes challenges correct so far, it was a while back though. and most of his incorrect calls seem to be very close. I think Safin also has to be mentioned as one of the worst challengers, I've seen him make some ridiculous challenges.

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

I know one thing, I seen the worst line calls I've ever seen in the last couple of weeks. It's almost like they don't care anymore since there is hawkeye. I also think this dilutes the stats since some of the calls are so bad that the players just don't trust the lines people anymore so they make challenges that they probably would not make if the calls were more accurate. Also seen some incorrect calls by hawkeye, like that one Fed made when he, Nadal, and the umpire just laughed. That ball was clearly close to the line and hawkeye showed it a foot in.
As for who's the best player, not sure but would like to see some stats on it. Just from observation, I'd say Nadal, Ferrer, and maybe Blake, he seems to be right more often than not. However, as someone so correctly pointed out, the top players get hawkeye the majority of the time so even stats would be hard to evaluate. I do think they should have the system on every show court in major events and not just centre court.

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

Safin is awful, Federer and Nadal at times are way toooooooooo stubborn because they think that their shots never miss and make stupid challenges.
However, I believe that Federer also, at times, makes some amazing challenges.

This was one of Roger's points when he was asked why he was no fan of the system. I'm afraid he was quite right there.

That he himself is such a clown when challenging might have something to do with it, too...

Re: Who is Hawk Eye best friend?

The weird thing is, as somebody mentioned, that when it first started, Roger was INCREDIBLE with the Hawkeye challenges. He was right like every time, but then, out of nowhere, he hasn't been anywhere close to getting Hawkeye challenges right for some time. He's been just awful, but he used to be amazing at them.
