With this name he must be... Korean? (playing PFloyd)

Is he Finnish? We have a few very nice Finns here that will probably answer your question when they wake up.

Re: Sami Huurinainen

I love these Finnish names!

You can also try Jarkko and the other Finish players' thread. GM attracts more people, but that's where the Finns are!

Re: Sami Huurinainen

He has a good serve and he is probably the better half of the Huurinainen/Ojala doubles.

That's mean, Gu. Not all people around here are multi-lingual.

Finnish 'suomi', absolutely. A very funny language, absolutely unique, and completely incomprehensible whatsoever for either the Latin-based Europeans as well as the for the Germanic-based.

Mistaking Latin for Dutch has nothing to do with being multi-lingual...

Well,
Few years ago I was in Helsinki( Lepavaara, part of Espoo to be exact) and never managed to understand why the Finns would give their children names like:

Sirkku (f)
Jorma (m)
Ville (m)
Tapio (m)
Jouko (m)
...................

I mean, also there were many "normal" names like Tommi,Jan, Hanna, Marko,Robin....

I don't know , it is probably part of their tradition, but those aforementioned names were very funny to me (and still are).

Re: Sami Huurinainen

They are funny! In a good way, of course... especially Sirkku!

But the surnames are what I love the most!

Re: Sami Huurinainen

Still 27 years old so a bit too early to deem him Finnish yet.
