Cincy R2: [3] Djokovic def. Bolelli 7-6(2), 7-6(2)

Djokovic faced 12 break points during the match. Bolelli only took two of them.

I didn't see it, though. Damn Tennis Channel

Better player lost today.
Simone should have clinched the match in straith setes, not Faker.

Mr. Bolleli, thank you for finding a way to be slightly worse than Nole today.

What a boring match.

I had an impression that Djokovic was modeling the scoreline to improve his great TB record after 3 losing tie-breaks in a row

Mmm.

Good enough in the end, played the better in the tiebreaks obviously, not so much in the sets themselves, but mentally he was patient with himself and seemed to accept it wasn't going to be one for the family album and just knuckled down to find a way though, which he did.

He'll be hoping for better next round and will probably produce it.

He still doesn't seem like the same player he was earlier this year just now though - the cocksure swagger is temporarily missing from his on-court accessories.

I do think it will only be temporary though.

More consistent player than Bolleli today would have wiped the court with the Faker.

I would love Berdych to win today against Seppi.
If he have one of those days, he will destroy the Faker.

Given the conditions there that would be a risky play. But then Bolelli did obligingly spray his forehand about the place as soon as the umpire called "Six games all, tiebreak" so maybe he knew it would be okay.

Djokovic looks like he is depressed or something. It is not just his game that is different. He is not himself. He looks like a different person on the court. No fist pumping, no anger... Flat, flat, flat.

You know, Djokovic beat Bolelli this year on the similar surface 6-1 6-2 6-2. Maybe the Italian has improved since then, maybe Djokovic is a little bit out of form but in my opinion the difference between these two is still very clear and Djokovic should have won this one 6-3 6-4 or something like this.
The Serb played the best point at 5:6 (15-30) in the second set, it was the only time today when he was close to lose a set...
