Toronto QF: G. Simon def. M. Cilic 3-6, 6-2, 6-3

Cilic played like a mug. It's a wonder he came to the QF. His first serve percentage was low, his second serve wasn't impressive esp concerning how tall he is, and he mostly pushed his groundstrokes and they landed short. It was a battle of the pushers, who can push better than the other. All in all congrats to Simon for making a good run this tourny and reaching the semis.

What a horrible horrible match this was. Cilic I have an unimaginable dislike for Gilles Simon for some reason

cilic does have the shots , but simon made him forget anything he knew.

by the end he looked like he wouldnt be able to remember his name if someone asked him.

i was afraid this could happen but i was still hoping cilic could pull himself together...

Cilic let Simon hang around too long and payed for it. Cilic couldn't believe he was in a third set and played crap. Simon was he's usual steady set. Congrats on 1st Master Series SF Simon!

Marin Got sucked into the Simon grind, waaay to many UEs and practically no first serve in the last.

Gilles Simon is adorable, even if he ruined my week by defeating Roger.

Very, very bad match - ridiculous no. of UEs (Cilic: 60! ) and Cilic sort of self-destructed the way Fed did on Wednesday.

Still: congrats to Simon for making it to his first MS semi-final!
(There's at least a bit of comfort in the fact that Fed apparently didn't lose to a total mug )

That was one of the most boring mens matches that I have ever watched. Congrats to Simon, but all he had to do was keep the ball in play and wait for the Cilic error........shocker!!

Simple Simon used the simple methods and it worked to a tee.

No need to raise the game, just keep the ball in court and let the opponent self destruct. Cilic forget the net is what you are meant to hit over, not use it like a trawler.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Cilic is a manufactured, one dimensional clown.

simon winners/UE ratio was 15/40 and he made only 3/15 BPs. still won this match easily, that says it all.
