Toronto 3r: Blake def. Tursunov 46 61 64

Almost blew it. I don't like Blake's tennis much, but I find myself rooting for him to win more lately. Don't know why.

Make the semis!

Sampras, Agassi, Nalbandian, Santoro, Verdasco.

epic choking skills from both players, Blake's wise choices of not using hawk-eye

It was close in the third set. Tursunov had some good points due to some good line calls in his favor. But, Blake hit better forehands and was more consistent. Well done, Blake.

Re: Toronto 3r: Blake def. Tursunov 46 61 64

It was tense out there, empty center court after the rain break with Tursunov ready to explode at any moment. He hit a few angry balls to the sides and also said something to a supervisor at one point who was watching from the sides.

I don't like Tursunov's game and his behaviour. He is dangerous for ball boys...
Strange, ugly match. Blake was 4:1 up in the final set, Tursunov leveled up to 4:4 and lost two games in a row in which had 40-15. Blake won a point in the final game returning 234 km/h serve

james almost blew it and dima completely blew it. he had two break points to go up 5-4 but instead got broken himself in the last game. still, in the beginning of the third, it looked hopeless for tursunov.

Re: Toronto 3r: Blake def. Tursunov 46 61 64

I just realized this...

2r: Blake def. Bjorkman 16 61 62
3r: Blake def. Tursunov 46 61 64
QF: Blake v. Davydenko/Kiefer
SF: Blake v. Simon/Cilic
F: Blake v. Djokovic/Nadal/Ferrer/Gasquet

Has James ever had a better shot at winning an AMS?

Sampras, Agassi, Nalbandian, Santoro, Verdasco.

Battle of the Ball Bashers.

The better ball basher won.

Congrats Blake!

That was an ugly match. Don't like either's game particularly (at least not while playing each other), but I agree, the better basher won.

Sure, and Simon would be tough too, but he doesn't have to deal with Federer anywhere and probably not Nadal either.

I'm merely pointing out he's got a very realistic shot at this title. Kind of shocking, really, I never thought he'd be able to win one.

He does have a great H2H against Nik.

Sampras, Agassi, Nalbandian, Santoro, Verdasco.

His best ever chance to reach AMS QF and Mitya blew it...
But, to be fair, Blake was the better player today anyway.

Davy or Kiefer could give James fits out there. Especially since James is lacking confidence and consistency lately. Simon could give him fits, Cilic (haven't seen him play enough to get a feel for his game). Nadal has solved the Blake riddle. But yeah, I mean it is pretty open to anyone left in the draw to win Toronto.
