James Blake's backhand is a crime to tennis

... worst shot in the top 20? Worse than Gasquet's forehand? Yes.

Roddick's volley?

Andy Murray * Richard Gasquet * Fernando Gonzalez
Grigor Dimitrov * Andrey Kuznetsov

No. Let's talk about how shit Blake's backhand is, if it was even as close to being as good as his forehand is, he would have won some big tournaments this year and the last couple of years.

James BH is a fine shot. But his mind is his weakness. If he had Rafa mind he would of won a couple of slams in his careerer

Its an ugly looking shot because he tends to muscle the ball. However, when he is timing it well its quite effective. It surely is no crime to tennis and there are far worse backhands (hello Feña)

Feliciano Lopez's inability to hit anything but a slice with his backhand is the true crime to tennis.

Congratulations, you are the first genius to realise Blake has a weak backhand.

I have a strange fondness for Blake's backhand. No proper swing or follow-through just a shallow flat slap at the ball. It even manages to look effective occasionallly

Was fine for a set or two in the US Open 2007. Especially against Federer.

Same. By no means is it one of the worst shots in the top 20, he can hit lots of winners off the backhand and even turn it into a weapon at times. Watch the fifth set of his Wimbledon loss to Schuettler and see how many screaming backhand winners he hit. He can also hit some huge returns with that backhand.

Worst groundstrokes in the top 20: Roddick's backhand, Gasquet's forehand, Gonzo's backhand, Stepanek's forehand and honorable mention to Ivo Karlovic's backhand at number 21. Wawrinka's forehand can suck at times as well.

Blake's backhand isn't the nicest shot from technical point of view but he can play backhand on a very high level. This clip proves it:

Blake's entire game is a crime to tennis except for his speed. And he doesn't even use that effectively.

Federer's backhand is the worst in the top 100, never mind top 20.
