When will Federer NOT be considered the favoirte to win?

Seems like despite all of these loses, he's still considered the favorite to win every tournament that he enters (except the French Open, of course). So I ask, how many more tournaments must Federer losses to not be considered the favorite to win? Upcoming: Cincinnati Masters, the Olympics & the U.S. Open.

He was rightfully considered the favorite in Halle and Wimbledon, but now he is mentaly destroyed so I would say he simply is not favorite to win anything anymore. Next year with a new coach and a new approach to the game, then we will see.

Betting-wise, I´d say if he doesn´t win Cinci, we won´t be a fav come the Olympics time unless Nadal or Djokovic also make bad results in both which is unlikely, specially from Djokovic. If he wins one out of Cinci or Olympics he will still be fav to win USO. Hope this helps

From now to the foreseeable future Fed will always be a favorite at worse. I think it's already at the point where he's not necessarily the number one pick, but I don't think it'll get to the level where he's totally discounted. If anything I think there will now be co-favorites viewed to win and he'll be amongst those favored.

Losing Cincy would do the trick. If he can't win on the fastest court, what can he win on?

Djokovic is the favorite in any hard court event he enters.

Depends on the surface, he was never the favourite on clay despite being n°1. And he's not the favourite on hard since the beginning of the year IMO.

In addition, ranking reflect the form on a full year. Right now, still n°1 (but for how long) and not the favourite anymore (behind Djoko but still ahead of Nadal on hardcourt).

Re: When will Federer NOT be considered the favoirte to win?

I vote for lose all cincy, Olympics and US Open, but I think you should consider other factor, if Federer loses, you must see which round he loses, if he loses back-to-back in his 1st match, maybe after cincy or olympics he will not be favorite, but if he loses in Finals, maybe even his results is 3 runner-up in the row, maybe he will still be favorite. And, you must see who defeat Federer, if he all lose to the same oppenent (just like he loses to Rafa in clay), then that oppenent maybe will rise to be the favorite.

He's the favorite as long as he's the number one player. After that, we can talk about others being favored over Federer.
