It should be Baggy but who knows...

Re: Wimbledon R1: Marcos Baghdatis versus Steve Darcis

Baghdatis is in a slump and Steve is playing well for the moment, so I'm hoping he can pull it off. Marcos has always done well at Wimbledon, so he must feel comfortable on the grass It will be a close match

And when is Steve getting an easy draw in a Grand Slam
US Open 2007 > Haas
Australian Open 2008 > Hewitt
Roland Garros 2008 > Ferrer
Wimbledon 2008 > Baghdatis

Re: Wimbledon R1: Marcos Baghdatis versus Steve Darcis

I really dislike this as a Baghdatis supporter. I'm afraid he will get kicked out early the way it happened in RG. Problem is just that he has to defend a QF here... Anyway, it will be a tough one for Baghdatis, 2nd round versus Johansson (or Spadea) will probably be a lot easier.

remember this is a grand slam. more pressure and 3 sets to win. baggy should clinch it. it's not like darcis is good on grass.

No, he reached the semifinals in the junior tournament and only lost to big servers this year. Yeah, Steve really sucks on grass

Baggy will clinch it. He was playing decent tennis in Halle last week. May not be in 3 sets though. Baggy always seems to like long matches in grand slams.

Re: Wimbledon R1: Marcos Baghdatis versus Steve Darcis

at the French Open, baghdatis lost against a good claycourt player and he didn't like clay so much, but here it a different thing - he always liked grass. Darcis surprised me when he beated soderling in Memphis's this year final, but i didn't saw the match and he disapointed me at Australian open when he was killed by lleyton in the first round

Yeah an interesting one. Should be Baggy, but not like he is in any decent form at the moment, and Darcis is one of those players that I wouldn't exactly call a mug.

Baggy seems in good grass form so I don't think he will have many problems against Darcis.
