N'gham: Cilic def. Bogdanovic 6-4, 6-4

Marin didn't manage earlier in 2nd > 5-2 and serve but nevertheless.

Re: N'gham: Cilic def. Bogdanovic 6-4, 6-4

Cilic had 2 MP's at *1-5... and then needed 5 MP's at *5-4 to win in the end.... a shame that Boggo didn't get a chance to break then as if he had, then I think he'd have taken it - at least he wasn't disgraced and put up a good effort, which Cilic very nearly choked and his serve kept him in the match as he was being outplayed in the rallies at the end, and the commentators were saying if Boggo had cut down on the errors at the start of the match he'd probably have won at least one of the sets

Great fight at the end from Boggo and he looked to be matching Cilic at the end, if not playing better than him.

However, he made far too many errors to begin the match with by the sounds of things, but once he cut them out and kept himself in the rally he was winning more of the points and appeared the better player - the problem was he was 2 break down by the time and so was never in the match.

Only 2 aces and 6 DF's isn't great serving, and he only served at 57%, winning just 42% on the 2nd serve which wasn't good enough for most of the match, and probably worst serving stats of the tournament for him.

But at least he made a fight of it at the end which is something he hasn't done in the past which can only be an improvement, but we just have to that he played like that at the start of the match and has fought back like that in previous matches.

I'd have taken 6-4, 6-4 at the start of the day so can't be too disappointed with it and at least he wasn't thrashed going into Wimbledon which would have destroyed his confidence, but coming off the back of this fightback he must be thinking he has a good chance

A good chance of what exactly? A slightly more respectable straight-set first-round loss?

Nice second set Marin.

Cilic is strange player. He has a talent, but it is becoming very strange how he chokes when he serves for the set/match. And it is happening constantly with him.

Re: N'gham: Cilic def. Bogdanovic 6-4, 6-4

marin's level has consistently fallen when he's gotten up in a set this year. should have been much much easier. had mp and second serve at 5-1. first set could have also been easier. he'll struggle vs. tojo if he plays like this

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world

Happens with almost all young players.

Tim Henman--Gael Monfils--James Blake--Donald Young--Rafael Nadal--Jo-Wilfried Tsonga--John Isner--Janko Tipsarevic--Richard Gasquet.

It's a Croatian thing!

They have talent and physical abilities, but what they lack, is their mental abilities. Too temperamental to do anything big in their youth (see Goran, with game he had he should have won wimbledon 5 times, not lose 3 times in finals.....)

With that said, I do belive that Cilic has the best game of any Croatian player ever. What he needs to be top 10 is to improve 1st serve percentage as he can break anyones serve.

Nice second set Marin.
A chance of win as long as he gets the favourable draw he is due at a Grand Slam.

At least with the attempted comeback he will have a bit of confidence that he wouldn't have had if he lost tamely in the second like it looked as if he would
