(Q) Rohan Bopanna d. (WC) Martin Verkerk 6-7(8) 7-6(2) 6-4

Excellent win for Rohan and possibly his first ATP win outside of India. Good revenge for the defeat he suffered to Verkerk in Davis Cup 12-10 in the fifth.

21 aces and not a single break point faced, now go beat Canas.

O-O-O Verkerk...

boppana is good server. and these indians and pakistani players seems to play well on grass.
i hope boppana doesn't get injured again. he is decent player but very injury prone.

Correct by the way, this is Rohan's first ATP win abroad. Only his second ever actually. He beat Saulnier in Chennai in 2005. However its worth noting that he has won matches abroad in Davis Cup.
2007

Stockholm l. Montanes 6-7 (5) 1-6
Mumbai l. Devilder 6-3 3-6 6-7(9)
Beijing l. Tsonga 3-6 0-1 RET

2006

Mumbai l. Moodie 6-3 6-7(5) 4-6
Halle l. Federer 6-7(4) 2-6
Chennai d. Saulnier 6-3 6-3
Chennai l. Muller 3-6 4-6

2003

Chennai l. Krajan 4-6 6-7(3)

davis cup victories does count in atp win/loss record.

BTW his Davis cup victory against Kei Nikishori should be noted.(that is probably the best victory in his career.)
remember Nikishori won delray beach beating blake
and most recently he pushed nadal to the brink.

verkerk was happy with his performance since he didn't played on grass for many years. Pity the wildcard was for Verkerk and no other decent player could have got it.

After Haase we have nothing, his buddys sijsling vd duim are still around 500, thiemo is injuried a lot (won a future last week) and huta has to win more matches on regular basis

verkerk needs more practise but not sure if he makes in to the top 100 and middelkoop just isn't good enough for top 250
